International Cuisine Recipes
Have you ever thought about the importance of recipes? When I started the Cubaneando con Mario website years ago, it was more about teaching cooking techniques than posting a lot of recipes. I think if you learn several basic cooking techniques, you can prepare hundreds of recipes.
There are many recipes on my site and this is where you can find them. Some recipes, such as chowder, will be displayed in various categories, including fish recipes and soup recipes, so there will be many ways to find the one you are looking for.
When you browse through some of these recipe categories I'm pretty sure you'll see what kinds of foods I like the best, because there will be a lot more recipes in that group. We eat a lot of chicken in our house, so you will find more poultry recipes. I'm big at making sauces so you're going to find plenty salsa recipes. The category in which I am working to grow are the garnish recipes because you can't get enough of them.
Although they are sometimes called hors d'oeuvres and sometimes called entrees, appetizers are those delicious little dishes served before a meal. The oldest memory of an aperitif is one of those little mini hot dogs in puff pastry that my aunt Berta used to serve us during the holidays.
Appetizers can be served hot or cold, plain or elaborate, delivered to whet your appetite before the big meal. I guess they are often used to keep the appetite up and give the host more time to put food on the table.
Either way, here are some of my favorite appetizer recipes:
Bread recipes and pizza recipes
I don't bake a lot of bread, but I have friends who do, who have shared with me some of their best-kept secrets and tips on how to make bread at home.
We have our own outdoor pizza oven, so we make a lot of pizzas especially for spring, summer and fall with our friends and our children's friends.
Here are some of my favorite bread and pizza recipes:
Recipes for kids
Getting your kids to try something new can be a challenge in any home. I am very lucky that my girls like to try new foods and I ask them to at least try everything that I serve. If you don't like it, I'll try again a few years later and see if your tastes have changed.
Here are some of what I call "Kids Recipes" because they seem to go well with my kids and their friends:
For those who eat meat, these are some of my meat recipes all-time favorites, including recipes from beef, recipes of Pork Meat y lamb recipes. I have some for veal, venison, and buffalo, but not too many.
The recipes of meatloaf they are now popular and I have two: a basic recipe of meatloaf that even your children will enjoy and another one a little more elegant. There is a basic roast beef recipe along with a roasted pork basic and leg of roast lamb.
For those who are enjoying sous vide cooking, a technique that I am beginning to learn more about, there is a great recipe for sous vide pork tenderloin. And for those who enjoy cooking in a crock pot, be sure to check out my recipe for pork chops simmered.
There is plenty here for all tastes and more recipes added all the time.
If someone told me that I could only eat one type of food, I'm sure it would be pasta. There are literally thousands of ways to make pasta. There should be more than a hundred different types of pasta, in all sizes and shapes, and served with more sauces than you can take on a cheese grater.
My favorite pasta dish is Pasta with garlic mushrooms and Manchego cheese that a friend taught me. On weeknights, when I have no idea what to make, I make one of my daughters' favorite pasta recipes, fresh pasta with truffle butter .
If you are looking for a meat sauce, I show you the steps to prepare the Teriyaki sauce. My other favorite dish from the meat pasta recipe is the pasta bolognese And it can be served with almost any pasta, but we prefer some form of spiral.
And if you're looking for a good seafood pasta dish, you can't beat this one. Galets stuffed with monkfish and prawns.
We eat a lot of chicken in our house. One of our favorite meals of the week is a simple roast chicken recipe with potatoes and vegetables. My oldest daughter's favorite is sweet and sour chicken with vegetables. My youngest daughter loves the chicken curry with sweet potato . When I started the website Cubaneando with Mario Over 2 years ago, one of the first cooking techniques I learned was how to sauté chicken breasts.
He knew that if he could master this technique, he could make dozens of chicken recipes by changing some of the ingredients and making various skillet sauces. Many of those recipes that you will find here.
And let's not forget my duck and turkey recipes. I love duck but I don't cook it enough. I am going to work on my duck recipes and techniques for preparing it at home.
And then there's Thanksgiving, where the turkey reigns. Prepare a delicious Pavochón recipe.
"It is the sauce that distinguishes a good chef. Salsa is a soloist in the orchestra of a great kitchen." (Fernand Point)
So true! You can sauté a chicken breast to perfection and make a great meal, but if you know how to make simple sauces, you can make hundreds of different meals. In addition, you will find that each kitchen has its own style of sauces, some similar, some completely different.
For example, Italian pasta sauces like Genoese sauce are very different from classic French sauces. A simple teriyaki sauce for Chinese meatballs has a different taste and appearance than a Bechamel sauce . Even barbecue sauces can be different depending on where you live.
Here are some of my favorite sauces from various cuisines that you can enjoy with your favorite foods:
When I think of soup, I think of comfort food. When I'm cold to the bone I'm looking for hot thick soup like my Garlic soup with boletus recipe.
When I am sick or not feeling well, please give me one of my chicken soup recipes . And when it's summer and it's really hot outside, I'm looking to make one of my favorite cold soups like my Gazpacho soup recipe.
