Many cultures enjoy complete meals with variations of dishes, different customs, and unique food assortments. Complete dishes have a rich and diverse history from many regions that is the result of the evolution of food traditions over time. For the western world, full dishes can bring to mind sumptuous dinners or long meals in a fancy restaurant. But how many dishes should there be in a complete meal, and what should each dish consist of?
A full-plate dinner is a multi-course meal. The basic full plate consists of three or four plates. Complete dishes typically start with the precursors to a main dish, such as an amuse-bouche or soup, followed by the main dish (s), and are finished with sweets, coffee, and tea.
The complete dishes usually take place in someone's house, in a place or in a restaurant. They are usually enjoyed in the afternoon or evening for a special occasion. In both upscale and casual restaurants, diners can opt for a full meal by ordering multiple dishes that come out at different times.
